The Journey Begins

My name is Amit Bhavsar. I'm a physician who is about to start a residency in OBGYN. I created this blog as a place to discuss interesting cases, things relevant to this field in the popular press and to review the latest research and publications. I find this area of study fascinating not only because it is challenging and fast paced medicine, but is often very emotionally charged. Consider hot topics such as abortion, contraception, the HPV vaccine, home births, just to name a few. I'm very happy to provide a forum to discuss such things in as much of a non-emotional and scientific way as possible, but admittedly, complete objectivity is probably impossible. Lastly, I'd would like this blog to be entertaining and enlightening equally for medical personnel in the field and also regular people who have an interest this area.
